What they do
An Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) is a Certified Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Hygienist who has received additional training and certification to perform specific procedures that would otherwise not be included in their respective scope including, placing fillings, taking impressions, polishing teeth, and applying sealants.
Education: Certified Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Hygienist plus completion of an EFDA training program.
