What they do

For seniors and adults with physical disabilities, living independently at home can be a challenge when it comes to the tasks of daily living. Independent Support Workers are dedicated paraprofessionals who help with a variety of tasks to help them remain independent in their home.  The individuals may hire and train the ISW to meet their specific support needs. 
Duties may include: 

  • Housekeeping tasks such as: washing dishes, changing bedding, laundry, vacuuming, moping, dusting, cleaning kitchen and bathrooms.
  • Meal planning/prep tasks including grocery shopping and carrying groceries into client's home.
  • Running Errands
  • Occasional transportation
