Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community certification (MHRT/C) professionals work with adults living with serious mental illness in a variety of roles and community-based settings including:

MHRT/Cs play a crucial role in the mental health care system by providing direct support to adults with mental health diagnoses. Their responsibilities include:
- Helping clients develop and implement personal recovery plans.
- Providing education on managing mental health symptoms.
- Facilitating community integration.
- Supporting individuals to pursue employment goals.
- Assisting clients in developing social skills and enhancing communication abilities.
The MHRT/C certification program is competency based, enabling those with a variety of backgrounds who have appropriate education, work experience and training to earn certification. You can qualify for MHRT/C certification through a variety of ways, such as:
- Academic coursework
- Approved Non-Academic coursework (i.e. relevant training or workshops)
- Related work experience
